A new report shows that Utah has the lowest rate of new lung cancer cases in the U.S.

Numbers from the American Lung Association show that in 2019, 780 Utahns will be diagnosed with the disease.

However, the same report also showed that only two-and-a-half-percent of the population that qualify for those screenings get them.

Nationally, the survival rate of those with lung cancer has gone up to 21-point-seven-percent.

That's higher from the 17-point-two-percent from ten years ago.
