Utah officials launch new gun program for public schools
Utah officials launched a new gun safety campaign for public schools yesterday.
Attorney General Sean Reyes introduced a five-minute video that will be shown to students in fifth through 12th grade, mandated by a law passed in 2016.
The video shows students in scenarios where they might encounter a gun and then has students apply the acronym L.E.T.S.: leave it alone, educate others, tell an adult, share threats.
Lawmakers who support the production of the video say they hope it can help educate children and families who don't talk about gun responsibility at home.
