The state of Utah says a website allowing Utahns to request a free face mask is back up after demand led it to crash.

Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox was part of yesterday's announcement of the "Mask for Every Utahn" initiative.

Two-million masks will be made available at no charge.

Demand for the free masks crashed the website and it took the state several hours to get it back up and running.

State health officials hope the initiative will make it easier for Utahns to wear face masks in public as coronavirus restrictions are lifted and businesses reopen.

State epidemiologist Dr. Angela Dunn says Utahns have to work together to keep flattening the curve when it comes to the spread of the coronavirus.
