Washington County alleged mail thief arrested

An alleged mail thief in Washington County is under arrest and it's all thanks to a Craigslist ad.

Police say Dennis Murty Junior was busted last week after he posted a unique set of cigars for sale on Craigslist.

The cigars are among dozens of packages and envelopes that have been reported stolen over the past two months in places like Enterprise, Brookside, and Dammeron Valley.

Investigators were able to track Murty to a home in St. George using the phone number tied to his online posting.

He's now facing charges of mail fraud and criminal mischief.
