Washington County Teacher one of six finalists to receive the highest honor for STEM teachers

A Washington County school teacher is one of six finalists to receive the highest honor for STEM teachers, the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Kristie Rindlisbacher of Crimson View Elementary was nominated because she exemplifies excellence in science instruction for the first grade. Rindlisbacher challenges and pushes the young students to achieve great things and says the hardest part about her job is trying to teach kids whose basic needs aren't being met because whatever problems they may have at home spills into the classroom. She's also a firm believer that all kids can rise to your expectations, you just have to meet them where they are and lift them from whatever knowledge they currently have.
