Water in Brian Head now safe to drink
Nearly one week after a boil order was enacted at Brian Head, town officials announced Wednesday afternoon that the order has been lifted and the culinary water supply is once again safe to drink.
According to Brian Head Town Manager Bret Howser all the tests since Friday have been clear, residual chlorine is out of the system and it’s running clean.
The presence of E. coli bacteria was detected in Brian Head’s water supply Thursday, prompting town officials to warn residents to boil their drinking water or use bottled water until further notice.
Howser said the cause of the problem was likely due to “high runoff hitting the springs, which we’ve now turned out of the system.”
