Dove Center asking for more funding

The Dove Center is asking leaders in Washington City for more funding to help survivors of abuse.

The nonprofit has asked city council members for an additional 75-thousand dollars to renovate a transitional housing center known as Erin's Home.

The money would come from a federal grant program issued by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The Dove Center says their emergency shelter helped 150 families last year, with a typical stay ranging from 30 to 90 days.
