ST. GEORGE, Utah (KDXU) - Dixie State University is raising money for the Washington County Justice Children's Center by inviting retired MLB player, Jose Conseco to the Bruce Hurst field to see if he can break a world record for the longest ball.

While Conseco didn't break a record, it wasn't just about hitting some baseballs. The event Monday night was to kick off a fundraiser so the county's Justice Children's Center can build a new facility for kids going through challenges or abuse at home.

DSU already helped raise about $15,000. If you want to help donate go to https://cjcwc.com/fundraisers/
