The Intermountain Dixie Regional Medical Center's trauma center has been re-verified as a Level II Trauma Center.

The renewal comes from the American College of Surgeons which verifies different trauma centers according to resources listed in the manual, Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient.

The ACS's Committee on Trauma's mission is to confirm that trauma centers not only provide the resources necessary for trauma care, but the entire spectrum of care required to address the needs of all injured patients.

The ACS does not designate trauma centers; a facility can only earn the title of “designated trauma center” when it complies with the requirements of government or other authorized entities.

Dixie Regional Medical Center has also been named as one of the Top 5 Hospitals in Utah by U.S. News and World Report.
