The FCC has a released a document about their Affordable Connectivity Program a service that has millions, nationwide, with internet access that they wouldn't have otherwise. Since 2022, the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) has helped 23,000,000 homes across the United States access low-cost internet service. The Affordable Connectivity Program, or ACP, has directed benefits of $30/month to qualifying homesfor internet service. Did you know one in six households in the U.S. is currently enrolled with the ACP? That's A TON OF PEOPLE! Most of these homes are minorities, veterans, low-income families, and seniors. Here's the problem: According to the government's website, the "last fully funded month of the program is April 2024. That would mean over 70,000 Utahns would lose their internet service in May, and MILLIONS nationwide.

According to the Whistle Out, more than 70,000 Utah residents will lose their internet service in May if funding does not continue. Without further funding for the ACP, the phase-out procedure will commence. As per the FCC, if supplementary funding isn't secured beyond April, the 71,484 Utah residents currently benefiting from the program will only receive a partial discount in May. Moreover, if additional funds aren't secured by the end of May, the program will terminate, leaving recipients without any assistance.
