My Favorite Hike In Snow Canyon State Park
Although I love everything about Snow Canyon, I do have a favorite spot.
The White Rocks Trail is definitely a place I would recommend for all out of towners. If you don’t believe me, maybe you will believe Katy Perry. She chose this location to film the music video for ‘Rise’!
The hike is found in the Northern part of Snow Canyon. Round trip, it is about 1.5 miles long. It's fairly easy to hike until you get to the actual white rocks. From there, you'll find several levels of elevation that may be difficult for some.
Once you reach "the amphitheater", you will see the white sand dunes that kids will find a lot of fun to climb on.
Running, rolling, scooting or sledding down the hill is always fun for kids. However, a word of warning: sand does get in all nooks and crannies!
There are plenty of different areas to walk around or hike around to see different parts of Snow Canyon. If you’re lucky you may spot some wildlife. However, your own pets are not allowed on this hike.
This hike is open year round. During parts of the year there are small pools of water at the bottom of the rock formations that kids can play in. One of the pools is created by a man made dam, but disappears when it’s too hot.
Or if you feel really bold, you can dress like Katy Perry and dance around while your spouse films.
