Missing Cedar City woman presumed dead

An elderly woman from Cedar City who disappeared over the weekend is now presumed dead.

In a Facebook post yesterday, the Iron County Sheriff's office said the search for Carol Stratton has officially gone from a search and rescue mission to a recovery operation.

The 71-year-old was last seen Saturday about six miles northwest of the Cedar City airport.

The sheriff's office said more than one-hundred volunteers helped look for her.
