Missionary sent home for sexual exploitation

A 19-year-old from South Jordan is being accused of trying to blackmail young women to send him nude pictures of themselves.

Investigators say Gabe Gilbert threatened to edit the faces of several victims onto nude bodies and then share them, unless those victims sent actual nude pictures of themselves to him.

Jessica Farnsworth of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force says an agent began investigating Gilbert in August of last year.

The Utah Attorney General's Office says it found 50 potential victims of the extortion attempt on Gilbert's Snapchat account.

Gilbert has been charged with several felonies, including aggravated sexual extortion of a child.
