Old Dixie Highway name gets approved

ST. GEORGE, Utah (KDXU) - Old Highway 91 from Leeds to the Utah/Arizona line has been officially renamed to the "OLD DIXIE HIGHWAY".

Some areas of old Highway 91 have already been renamed such as the area going through the City of Washington where they will continue to call it Telegraph Street.

All of the portions of the Highway owned by Washington County will now be called the Old Dixie Highway.

The proposal was written by Gil Almiquist and it was approved at the county commission meeting this week.
