Plane registered in Utah, carrying 12 passengers crashes in Mexico; no survivors

A private plane registered out of Utah crashed after taking off from Las Vegas en route to Mexico with 12 passengers.

According to officials in Mexico, the Las Vegas to Monterrey flight was reported missing on Sunday afternoon when it failed to land at its scheduled time.

The Public Security Secretariat of Coahuila, in coordination with the authorities of Nuevo Leon, are currently investigating the crash that officials announced had killed everyone on board.

The 12 passengers were all from Nuevo León who had previously attended the fight of Saúl El Canelo Álvarez vs Daniel Jacobs which was held in Las Vegas.

The aircraft took off from Las Vegas-McCarran International Airport and was scheduled to land in Mexico at 6:30 p.m., but never arrived. It was found Monday in a mountainous area in northern Mexico, according to a story on BNOnews.com.

According to a specialist in aeronautics, the plane suffered a strong descent when it hit 40,000 feet. That is when all contact was lost.

Authorities said the last contact between the plane and the Monterrey control center happened around 173 miles from Monclova, Mexico.

Authorities have released the names of the passengers however, ABC4 has chosen not to publish them out of privacy for their families.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration Registry, the plane was manufactured by Canadair LTD and is registered to TVPX Aircraft Solutions Inc. out of North Salt Lake. It has a valid registration until October 31, 2020.
