Utah employees flying to Mexico for prescription drugs

Utah employees are being flown to Mexico for free for access to cheaper medication.

The cost difference between the U.S.  and Mexico is so large that the state insurance program can pay for each patient’s flight, give them a $500-per-trip bonus and still save tens of thousands of dollars.

In the year the program has run, the state has already saved over $200,000.

Due to the success of the program, flights to Canada are also being offered.
