The Utah Department of Transportation says drivers need to make plans now to avoid the double whammy of heavy Thanksgiving travel combined with winter weather conditions.

UDOT is urging drivers to take into account that the heaviest expected travel on Interstate 15 will be from 2 to 7 p.m. tomorrow.

At the same time, another winter storm is expected to move through the area.

UDOT crews will continue to treat and plow state roads, but officials are urging travelers to check conditions, make sure vehicles are ready for winter driving and slow down to avoid crashes and slide-offs.
