The Utah Department of Transportation is warning drivers to slow down as winter weather begins to put ice and snow on state roadways.

Dozens of accidents were reported yesterday as snowy and slick conditions surprised drivers in some areas.

A spokesman for UDOT said the agency feels this coming Monday will be the first day that winter weather will have a major impact on driving in the Wasatch Front.

UDOT says a road that looks clear can still have ice on it, so driving cautiously during winter weather is a must.
