St. George man pleads not guilty in murder of LA County deputy
A Utah man accused of going on a crime spree last month is pleading not guilty to murder and other charges.
Yesterday in Los Angeles, a judge ordered that Rhett Nelson of St. George be kept behind bars without bail until a September hearing.
The 30-year-old is accused of murdering an off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy at a fast food restaurant.
He's also charged with shooting and killing a second man and robbing several stores.
So far, investigators said they believe the crimes were random.
