State Representative wants to lower cost of insulin

State Representative Norm Thurston is calling on his fellow lawmakers to help bring down the cost of insulin.

During a press conference yesterday, the Republican discussed possible solutions for doing so.

One idea is to make insulin part of a preventative tier with health insurance companies, with no co-pays or deductibles.

Thurston also believes costs could be dramatically lowered if a single state agency bought insulin in bulk.

He said he'll keep pushing lawmakers so nobody in Utah dies from not getting the insulin they need.
