Suspect in fatal hit and run in Cedar City arrested

The suspect in a deadly hit and run in Cedar City is in police custody. 

Investigators say 25-year-old Jacob Schmidt was arrested yesterday during a traffic stop. 

Schmidt was being sought for a Monday hit and run in a Home Depot parking lot that left a 37-year-old man dead. 

Police charged Schmidt with first-degree murder in connection with the victim's death.
