Utah lawmakers my bring safety inspections back
State lawmakers may bring back required safety inspections for cars in Utah, two years after the Legislature got rid of them.
The Utah Highway Patrol presented data to lawmakers yesterday, showing that the number of equipment enforcements is up by ten-thousand cases this year alone.
Troopers say about half of the cars involved in fatal or serious injury crashes had some sort of safely violation.
Legislation could involve some sort of inspection of a car before it can be sold of the lot.
