Utah lawmakers unveiling potential changes to medical cannabis program
Utah lawmakers are unveiling potential changes to the state's medical cannabis program for next week's special session.
The state would abandon its government-run dispensaries plan in favor of more privately-operated pharmacies.
Patients would also be allowed to get increased dosages of 30 days instead of 14, and the state would create a portal to allow for electronic payment processing.
This all comes after several county attorneys recommended against local health departments handing out medical cannabis out of fear it would open them up to federal prosecution.
