Utah’s tax reform bill possibly in trouble
Utah's recent tax overhaul bill could be in jeopardy.
Former state Representative Fred Cox is trying to gather enough signatures to force a referendum.
The West Valley City Republican says many lawmakers in the House and Senate were opposed to the tax plan, but worried about endangering their own bills by upsetting party leadership.
The bill raises taxes on groceries and gas, but lowers income taxes and adds new tax credits.
Cox has just under 40 days to collect 116-thousand signatures.
