Washington County mayors are standing with physicians and the Washington County Commission as they released a proclamation yesterday that endorses wearing face masks in public while indoors.

Officials say when in indoor public spaces, the proper wearing of face masks over the mouth and nose reduces COVID-19 transmissions, which lessens the burden on hospitals and healthcare workers.

They added that the recommendation extends to local organizations as they urge businesses in the county, cities and towns to support and push for face coverings to be worn in their establishments.
