17 Rescued In Garfield County Canyon

(Garfield County, UT) -- Seventeen people are safe in Garfield County after the Sheriff's Office says they needed to be rescued from a slot canyon. The church group of 15 young men and two adults were in Sandthrax Canyon yesterday for a hike and got lost. Rescue teams were dispatched to the canyon to drop food and water from a helicopter. Crews hoisted the group out this morning. Injures among the group were considered minor.
