Accident causes delays Northbound through Virgin River Gorge

An accident last evening caused a major backup in the gorge and resulted in two people being transported to DRMC in St. George.

Arizona Highway Patrol Trooper Thomas Callister said a vehicle traveling north failed to see that the traffic had stopped and collided with another vehicle at freeway speeds.

The 86 year old driver and passenger were treated at the scene.

The driver and passenger in the car that was hit were sent to the hospital.
