BYU turning to high-tech “Hello Landlord”

Law students at Brigham Young University are turning to a new high-tech option to help prevent disputes between landlords and tenants from reaching the courtroom.

BYU's legal innovation lab LawX has launched a new web-based tool called "Hello Landlord."

The tool helps mediate differences between landlords and tenants over things like missed rent payments or problems with a rental through guided questions, and then proposes solutions for both sides.

Students with LawX hope the tool will help reduce the number of evictions.
