A Cache County teen who was shot and left for dead in a Smithfield canal is trying to get enough money together to help buy something to help her recovery.

Deserae Turner was shot in the head in 2017, but she isn't letting the chronic pain she feels each day keep her down.

Turner still experiences migraine headaches and loss of arm function due to her wounds.

She and her family are now selling merchandise to help raise enough money for a robotic prosthesis that could help her regain more control and movement in her arm.

More information about the fundraiser is available on Turner's Facebook page.

Turner is excited about the possibilities presented by the robotic prosthesis she's raising money for.
