Careless Smoker Blamed For St. George Regional Airport Fire
(St. George, UT) -- A smoker tossed a cigarette butt into landscape shrubbery yesterday at St. George Regional Airport, causing a fire in the parking lot. Airport employees put out the blaze just after 5 p.m. Monday. The National Weather Service says wind gusts were peaking around 33-miles-an-hour at the time and it was about 105 degrees. No one was hurt, and no vehicles or buildings were damaged.
