First cannabis facility open in Utah
One of the first facilities licensed to grow medical cannabis in Utah is open in Tooele.
General Manager Randall Gleave of the Tryke Companies gave a tour of the facility to state and local leaders yesterday.
State officials are telling lawmakers that they should have enough cannabis available to begin distribution to medical patients on March 1st, when licensed pharmacies are scheduled to be up and running in Utah.
They said the initial inventory will be low but should be enough to handle the current demand.
Andrew Rigby coordinates the medical cannabis program for the Utah Department of Agriculture and believes the state will be ready to get the program underway in just a few weeks.
