Utah Governor Gary Herbert is dispelling rumors from pharmacies claiming the state is taking over the distribution of Hydroxychloroquine.

A Utah licensed physician Tweeted yesterday about her experience trying to prescribe the drug and says a pharmacists told her that the state has taken over distribution.

Herbert took to Twitter and says they have done no such thing and added that perhaps the high demand for the malaria-fighting drug is creating shortages.

He then pointed to the health department's recommendations for COVID-19 patients, which includes dosage suggestions to mitigate the risk of overdose.
