Governor Gary Herbert, Dr. Angela Dunn and Rich Saunders gave and an update on Utah’s recent surge of Covid-19 cases.

Dr. Dunn stated that Utah now has a 7-day rolling average of 857 new cases.  Utah county seems to be the main driver in new cases seeing a growth of 81% in the last week and 5.4 times more than the rest of the state. This surge according to the RT.live website has pushed Utah to number four in the country for rate of transmission.

According to Channel 4 news Provo and Orem will move back to the ‘Orange’ alert level. The first time since the pandemic started any place in Utah has gone back to a higher alert. The rest of the state will remain the same.
