5 New Products to Harness the Southern Utah Sun
With all the sunshine in Southern Utah, you may have wondered what to do with all that heat hitting your roof. Here are five new products that you could add to your Southern Utah home.
Chinese Water Heater
Rather than install solar panels on your roof, put one of these sun heated water heaters. Enjoy hot water that doesn't need electricity or natural gas to heat.
Solros System to Light Rooms
This system takes light from your roof and lights up fiberglass cables that can light up rooms 300 feet away. This could be helpful in basement areas where you need light during the day.
Solar Blinds
Forget solar panels. Put these solar blind on your sun facing windows and shade the house while generating electricity.
Home Biogas Converter
Take your food and garden waste and convert it into gas you can use to cook and heat your home.
Louvered Covers
I talked with Adam Stuart at Stuart, awnings and outdoor living. He said louvered covers are a big deal in Southern Utah right now. You can tilt the cover according to the sun. It makes your covered patio much more accessible.
What do you think of some of these new products? My wife might have a problem if I were to haul a water heater onto the roof. It might be alright if it was on the shed out back. I don't think she would mind a pergola with a louvered roof that could run by remote control.
