Super Bowl Plumbing Problems: Be Prepared in Utah
Should you prepare your house and plumbing for your Super Bowl party? You have heard how water systems are strained during half time during the game when everyone heads to the restroom at the same time. It is a bit of an urban legend. The truth is sewer systems are built to handle peak times.
Having said this, if you are having a Super Bowl party at your house, you may want to make sure you don’t have problems with your home system. Here are some things to check before you have a bunch of guests over and eating all those great dips and chips.
1. Know where the water shut off valve to the toilet is.
Should you have a toilet that is ready to overflow, it is good to know where to stop the water.
2. Have a plunger in the bathroom.
Guests don’t want to make a scene. Give them the tools to solve their own problems.
3. Don’t put anything down the garbage disposal that doesn’t belong there.
In your rush to get back to the game, don’t send grease, chicken wing bones, rice or anything else that will jam up the grinder down the sink.
Dog wants to party too.
The only other thing I try to prepare for is what is happening with my pets. With all that tasty snack food around, some of it is going to end up on the floor where the dog can eat it. It is also tempting for guests to share their food with a dog with pleading eyes.
If your dog has a delicate stomach, this can make for a long night. Let guests know about what your dog can eat or find someone to watch it during the party.
