Utah’s Most Haunted Locations: Eerie Tales and Sightings
Utah has many attractions, but some are...creepier than others like certain haunted mansions and abandoned hospitals.
So, if you’re a haunted house and horror/ ghostly stories enthusiast, then here are a few places in Utah for you to check out.
McCune Mansion
Haunted Rooms America has some history on this place. Built in 1901, the McCune Mansion is now used for weddings and other celebrations day to day. The “haunted” part of this place is the apparitions that appear which are said to be in the form of a man in a black cape and a little girl.
Mountain Meadows Massacre
All Southern Utahns are familiar with the tale of the Mountain Meadows Massacre where a group of settlers were killed by a group of LDS militia in 1957. It's one of Utah's bloodiest moments and due to the brutality of the act, it's said that the cries of the dead can be heard at the location of the massacre.
Rock Canyon
Located up north in Provo, Rock Canyon is a popular hiking spot, however, it's riddled with deaths. HRA said these deaths contribute to the “negative energy” surrounding the place. There is said to be a man who stands on a rocky ledge and stares down at the living before running toward that at an impossible angle.
Old Tooele Hospital
Built in 1873, this hospital has a unique story since even though it was originally a place for care, half of it seems to be haunted. Half of the building has been turned into a place for elderly care but there is a dark presence there. Some visitors think they have seen a young girl and a former patient named Wes following them.
