Man and women found by trooper after motorcycle crash
A Utah Highway Patrol Trooper came across a man and women involved in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon.
Officials with the Utah Highway Patrol say at around 11:49 a.m., a male rider and a female passenger on a motorcycle were traveling eastbound on SR-6 near milepost 146, about 5 miles east of Eureka.
In this area, the road gradually curves to the right and the posted speed limit is 60 mph.
For an unknown reason, the male rider did not stay in the travel lane and drifted off the side of the road, authorities say.
The motorcycle dirted for a significant distance, went down an embankment, and into a fence.
Utah Highway Patrol officials say the female passenger suffered significant injuries to her arms and the male rider suffered minor injuries.
Both were transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital and the female was then flown by medical helicopter to a trauma center, officials say.
Lt. Cox with the Utah Highway Patrol says the cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
