Man arrested for DUI and smoking marijuana in front of officer

A Washington County man is accused of driving drunk and then smoking marijuana in front of the officer who pulled him over.

Police say William Mecham was initially stopped for a broken headlight, but the officer smelled alcohol and noticed he was slurring his words.

The officer said Mecham then proceeded to place marijuana into a glass pipe and smoke it right in front of him.

He was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI and driving on a suspended license.
