Authorities have identified a man who was shot and killed by Emery County Sheriff's deputies and UHP troopers earlier this month.

Investigators say 41-year-old Mark Stoddard of Huntington pointed a gun at officers on December 21st when they had pulled him over for a DUI check.

He then drove off for a short time, but was stopped again after UHP used tire spikes to disable his vehicle.

A deputy and UHP trooper then fired shots at Stoddard when he pointed his weapon at officers a second time.
