Mike Lee casts doubts that Iran was targeting U.S. embassies
Republican Senator Mike Lee is casting doubt on claims that Iran was targeting U.S. embassies prior to an air strike that killed a top military leader.
Speaking on CNN yesterday, Senator Lee said he never heard news about Iranian plans to attack four embassies before President Trump made the claim on Fox News.
Last week, Lee stirred things up after saying a briefing that included Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defense Secretary Mark Esper was insulting to lawmakers.
However, Lee has said the death of the general was beneficial to U.S. security.
