A private-public partnership could be a gamechanger for Utah as the state looks to reopen the economy.

State officials announced today that Merit Medical Systems will produce testing swabs for COVID-19 testing kits.

Merit CEO Fred Lampropoulos said his company can make ten-thousand of the swabs a day, but will ramp that number up to 50-thousand as time goes on.

This all comes as the country experiences a shortage of supplies needed for COVID-19 testing kits.
