Salt Lake City Mayor says not ready to move out of the orange alert phase
Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall doesn't think her city is ready to move out of the orange phase of the state's COVID-19 restrictions.
In a tweet yesterday, Mendenall said the city's higher number of coronavirus cases in certain zip codes justifies the governor's decision to continue current restrictions for a while longer.
Governor Herbert announced yesterday that much of Utah will move to the low-risk phase of coronavirus restrictions beginning this Saturday.
However, Salt Lake City and West Valley City will continue with current restrictions until there is a further reduction in cases of the virus.
