The Salt Lake City Council is extending the mayor's COVID-19 emergency declaration into next month.

The council voted last night to extend the declaration through May 7th.

The city council also discussed a budget amendment that includes money for pandemic sick leave for city staff, equipment and funding for extended telework and a four-million-dollar fund for disaster-related needs.

Other items originally included in the budget amendment will be put off until after the current emergency ends.
