The work to secure thousands of signatures needed to put a citizen's referendum on tax reform on the ballot is moving into high gear.

Volunteers like Daniel McClellan of South Jordan say it's important for state lawmakers to know how Utahns feel about the tax reform package passed during a special session earlier this month.

Volunteers have to gather nearly 116-thousand signatures by January 21st to get the measure on the ballot.

The bill passed by lawmakers gives Utahns an income tax cut, but reinstates sales taxes on food and adds new taxes on certain service businesses.
