The St. George Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is conducting a nationwide search for a new executive director.

“We have some big shoes to fill,” said Niki Hancock, who chairs the board.

“We are eager to find the right candidate to build upon the chamber’s robust goals and advance our mission to support the growth of our community’s business infrastructure as we develop richness and diversity in the opportunities in southern Utah,”

A hiring committee comprised of board members and community stakeholders will conduct the search.

The committee plans to have the position filled by early to mid-December to ensure the new director has adequate time to work with the departing director, Pam Palermo.

Palermo is stepping down after the chamber’s annual gala event planned for January 18, 2020.
