The state of Utah is giving high school students the chance to learn more about careers in the construction industry.

The Governor's Office of Economic Development announced the start of the Utah Architecture, Engineering and Construction Pathway yesterday.

Students can enter the program as early as eighth grade and can advance to certification and degree programs after graduation.

State officials say students can earn an eight-thousand-dollar scholarship to Weber State University by completing four courses in the program during high school.
