State Health officials concerned about a Covid-19 spike in Southern Utah

Utah Governor Gary Herbert says the next step in Utah's recovery from the COVID-19 emergency could happen sooner if Utahns observe necessary health and safety restrictions. 

The governor says he will let data on the number of coronavirus cases happening in the state guide his decision on when to move Utah from the current yellow alert status to the green "new normal" stage. 

State health officials say they are worried about a spike in coronavirus cases in southern Utah. 

State epidemiologist Dr. Angela Dunn said those living in the St. George area should be more diligent about following state guidelines regarding face masks and social distancing because of the potential for a surge in cases.
