The University of Utah Medical Center has launched the state's first drone delivery service.

The center has teamed up with UPS and a company called Matternet to potentially transport things like tissue samples, supplies and medical records.

The team behind the project has three landing sites it can use, and the U. has already worked with the FAA to determine safe flight paths for the drones.

Center officials say the idea could help staff spend more time handling medical issues instead of acting as couriers.
