The Utah Highway Patrol is urging drivers to take extra time and be extra cautious as they hit the highways during bad weather.

The warning comes after troopers investigated over 300 crashes on state highways yesterday.

A UHP sergeant's vehicle was hit by a driver as he did traffic control on an on-ramp from State Route 201 to eastbound Interstate 80.

The UHP is asking drivers to slow down and move over when they see emergency vehicles parked on the side of the road.
