Church closes MTC abroad

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is closing another missionary training center abroad.

Church leaders say the MTC in Guatemala City will close this upcoming January.

In a statement, an LDS Church spokesman says missionaries who go to that facility will instead go to the MTC in Mexico, which is already equipped to handle the larger groups.

Local leaders in Guatemala will determine how to use the MTC campus after the missionaries leave.
